Again a message from one of my friends. I thought I’d just pass it along for those who care to read it…Like my friend, I paid for my Social Security every week for years and deserve every nickel the Government sends me each and every month… But I digress, I know, I know this will sound like me and the way I feel but its not……….I’m only the messenger this time…Read on….

 

“Entitlement my foot, I paid cash for my social security insurance!!!!

Just because they borrowed the money, doesn’t make my benefits some kind of charity or handout!!Congressional benefits, aka. free health care , outrageous retirement packages , 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days, now that’s welfare, and they have the nerve to call my retirement entitlements!

What the Hell’s wrong?

WAKE UP AMERICA !

Tuesday’s Daily Bulletin paper, ran two articles on the front page side by side :

1- California 20 Billion Dollar Budget Deficit

2- The California Supreme Court ruling that ILLEGALS can attend college

and get benefits.

Why don’t they just deport them when they arrive to register?

3- Last year they ran an article on the yearly costs to California Taxpayers from Illegals using Hospital Emergency Rooms for their general health care –
At just one hospital the cost to tax payers totaled over 25 million a year
Someone please tell me what the Hell’s wrong with all the people that run this country!
We’re “broke” & can’t help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,?
In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , and Turkey .

And now Pakistan…..home of bin Laden.. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!
Our retired seniors living on a ‘fixed income’ receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$’s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!

They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives and now when its time for us to collect, the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from it in the first place?

We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans..

AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without ‘needed’ meds, and mentally ill without treatment etc.

YET………………….
They have a ‘Benefit’ for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.
Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave ‘US’ the same support they give to other countries.
Sad isn’t it?”

99% of people won’t have the guts to forward this.

I had a computer problem yesterday, so I called Eric, the eleven year old next door, whose bedroom looks like Mission Control and asked him to come over.

Eric clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem.As he was walking away, I called after him, ‘So, what was wrong?’He replied, ‘It was an ID ten T error.’I didn’t want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired,’An ID ten T error? What’s that? In case I need to fix it again.’Eric grinned…. ‘Haven’t you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?’No,’ I replied.’Write it down,’ he said, ‘and I think you’ll figure it out.’

“Casey Anthony”

Lately I have been watching the Casey Anthony Murder Trial. Its like I got hooked on the antics of the prosecution and the defense. No predictions here and some would disagree but it doesn’t look good for Miss Anthony…For those of you who don’t know what this is all about. Prosecutors allege that Casey Anthony, 25, killed her daughter Caylee in 2008 by rendering her unconscious with chloroform, putting duct tape over her nose and mouth so she would suffocate, or a combination of the two acts. They also allege that Anthony stored the body in the trunk of her car in plastic bags for days, before dumping it in the woods. This link is for live coverage from TV station WESH in Orlando Fla. The best news I got yesterday was that Rod Blagojevich was convicted of corruption. I can only hope and pray that it was something I wrote about in the past that helped convict him. Now they have go after Burris and anyone connected with Blagojevich’s time in office. The walking hair piece could get 300 years in prison. Comment from Rod…”I’m stunned”.

Wow, its Thursday…Late again, distracted by the Casey trial…Again, no comment on that..not yet anyways..…Today its breakfast with friends…Thank you all very much for your feedback. I glad my words could spark some excitement. I love all your opinions and comments. We can do that here in America. Say what we want, when we want. Thank you…

   Myself and many others were very upset because NBC left out “Under God” from the pledge so I sent this reminder to NBC communications about how the Pledge should be said and the right way to say it. Two hours later I got a response from Chris McCloskey Vice President of NBC Communications.

 

Reminder to NBC…..This is the way it goes….

 

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation UNDER GOD, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”, should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove any non-religious headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute.”

 

 

Mr. McCloskey replied……..Thank you for writing regarding your concern over the beginning of our U.S. Open coverage on Sunday. We are aware of the distress this has caused many of our viewers and are taking the issue very seriously.
Unfortunately, when producing the piece – which was intended to
capitalize on the patriotism of having our national championship played
in our nation’s capital – a decision was made by a small group of people
to edit portions of the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

This was a bad decision.

 

As soon as management became aware of this decision and the controversy
it justifiably created, it immediately took steps to correct it
resulting in an on-air apology provided by NBC Sports’ lead golf
commentator Dan Hicks.
It was not the intent of NBC to upset anyone and we sincerely apologize
to anyone who was offended.

“Book Store”

 

  Had a great time yesterday, met with friends for breakfast and then later that afternoon I went and had lunch on the beach. I Have been doing that everyday and It seems its getting more crowded but that’s alright. It is Summer after all. Is it me or am I thinking that its more residents and not so many tourists. During the week I mostly go to places where the beaches are private.. So that must be the difference…On the weekends I go to a beach where there are always lots of people…Even in my town it seems there are less outsiders. I must be getting used to all the people or it cost too much to get here. I have been riding my bike everyday. My legs are much stronger. I can tell, I can do hills a lot easier and faster than when I started this year…Today, after the Casey Anthony trial, I’m really hooked on that but no comment. I’m off to do some food shopping then later for a long bike ride. I went to the book store the other day. I was actually pleased that it was still there. It still has paper books with pages to turn…It even smells like a book store…It was nice and I love the memories of an old fashion book store where you can still sit in an easy chair and browse a book or two…Quote from chapter 16 in Robert Redford’s new biography. Let me set this up. …While he was making the movie “All the President’s Men” He was in Washington and visited President Jerry Fords Oval Office. I guess for research and to see what it was like to have the worlds highest office. He thought, after having a conversation with Mr. Ford “You don’t have to be a Rhodes scholar to be President”. Now see what you miss by not visiting your local book store….On the news this morning. I can’t resist this… The Utube Jackass got killed last night. After making millions of dollars by tempting fate and hundreds of suicide attempts. I call them suicide attempts. What else would it be? It finally caught up with him when he ran his Porsche into a tree at a high rate of speed. He was drunker than a skunk.

To the incompetent NBC executive who made the decision to leave out UNDER GOD from the pledge.

“I’m Back”

The new me is officially going to start today…Of coarse I’ve said this 743 times before. I mean it this time. Well, almost mean it…Can you almost mean it? I know about half measures and all that but I will try. There are a few things I’m not going to anymore. First writing about the weather. Unless its really like the Tornado or flood that I was in I’m not going to say anything. Except if its over 100 degrees, then I have to say something.  Politics, that’s a tough one because someone has to keep an eye on the crooks. Its easy these days because most of them are so you don’t have far to look. I will try to back off on that. Maybe I’ll save it for the Tweets. I’m not going to swear. I really haven’t done much of that but when I start it means I’m upset. I’ll back off on that no matter what. I had a good fathers day yesterday even though I am one of the unfortunate Dads that have 2 ungrateful sons. Actually, its odd when you don’t have a father. I found myself putting a picture of my Dad on my blog and writing about him. Scroll down, it’s a high school picture. He was a really nice guy and I’m so glad we, my brother and I had the opportunity to take care of him in his last days…If anyone has a problem with Dad issues take care of those issues soon because the pain of regret later will be intolerable. Remember when I wrote about, the I wish I could have done things but its too late now feeling..…My advice is have the presence of mind now to help your parents, you won’t regret it in the future. Meanwhile this morning I’m going to breakfast with friends and have a good time….Take care guys. Larry’s back…

“If Creatures Could Talk”

Last night a bear cub was killed on one the highways here in Connecticut. The driver did not stop. Last week a mountain lion was killed. If I remember correctly that person did stop. I often see numerous deer and various creatures lying dead on the side of the road. I always wonder where everyone is going in such a rush? Do you have to go so fast that you can’t stop or miss a confused creature that is in the street. What if it was a little kid? Then it dawned on me that you are all very important and that if you arrive late Billions of dollars will be lost or no one will be available to make a major life saving decision. Let me suggest something…In 100 years no one will remember anything about you or care about anything you did. To most of you no one will remember next week who you were or what you did. To all others whose lives are not so important slow down, leave earlier and enjoy the scenery. Take my word for it. You are not that important and if you are not there no one will notice or care.
